Tour Overview

Welcome to our Winter Park neighborhood on this beautiful day! While many well known celebrities have passed through this beautiful village over its rich history, probably no one impacted, and was impacted by, Winter Park more than Fred McFeely Rogers, lovingly known the world over to millions of people as the unforgettable host of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood for over 50 years now.

Come along on our Mister Rogers Walking Tour as we visit the heart of town where Fred and his lifetime sweetheart, Sara Joanne Byrd Rogers, fell in love while in college and spent many years later in life! You’ll learn fascinating tidbits about how Fred was motivated by a mural in Winter Park to begin a lifetime ministry of serving others. Walk in the same places that Fred and Joanne did through different seasons of their life, as you come to better understand what inspired this legendary man to leave his unique mark on the world.

Learn about notable locations such as Fred’s dorm, the plaque that shaped his life, and many more meaningful spots.

This tour also includes a cruise on the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour as part of your visit where you’ll see awe-inspiring mansions and estates of past and current business leaders and celebrities, including one of the homes that Fred lived in!

I don’t what else to say, but this tour far exceeded my expectations, and the boat was the perfect ending. Wish I could post my pictures.

    "WOW! Who new????"
Growing up here in Central Florida, I had no idea how much time Mister Rogers and his wife spent in Winter Park! I must have driven past his house hundreds of time and had no idea he might have been in there writing scripts for the Neighborhood. This was a great surprise and well done by Michael and Rich. The boat was fun too, but I am still blown away by what I learned earlier today. If you are a fan of Mister Rogers at all, please, please do yourself a favor and check this out especially if you are a local. You will be blown away too.

    "Great day!"
I've done the boat before and it is always a nice treat, but I so pleasantly surprised to learn how much Mr. Rogers was connected to Winter Park. Nicely done team Original Orlando Tours once again! (I also recommend the food tour with this company. It was also a lovely time).

    "Pleasant surprise!"
I grew up with Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and we were pleasantly surprised to learn this tour existed. Even hubby thought it was well done and he never heard of him (I know, still scratching my head on that one). The guides were so nice and really knew their stuff. I even got a picture in front of the neighborhood sign that was so awesome. I liked the boat ride too and really appreciate Sarah giving us cold water bottles for the ride. It's hard to compete with Avatar at Disney but this was my second favorite thing of all the stuff we did this week and that says a lot! Thank you Sarah. We'll be back next year for another tour I promise. -Kali

"What a Beautiful Testament to a Fantastic Person!"
Very moving tribute to a wonderful and kind man. I had no idea how much Mr. Rogers and his wife were connected to Winter Park - that was a complete and terrific surprise. People like Fred Rogers should be honored and remembered and Rich and Michael did a fantastic job telling his story and honoring his legacy. We need to keep Fred's legacy alive. Thank you.
