Welcome to our Winter Park neighborhood on this beautiful day! While many well-known celebrities have passed through this beautiful village over its rich history, probably no one impacted, and was impacted by, Winter Park more than Fred McFeely Rogers, lovingly known the world over to millions of people as the unforgettable host of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood for over 50 years now.

Fred hosted 895 episodes of Mister Rogers Neighborhood, writing all the scripts and over 200 original songs – and much of this was written right here in Winter Park!

Come along on our Mister Rogers Walking Tour as we visit the heart of town where Fred and his lifetime sweetheart, Sara Joanne Byrd Rogers, fell in love while in college and spent many years later in life! You’ll learn fascinating tidbits about the three key elements that came together to inspire Fred to begin a lifetime ministry of serving others through the medium of television, including how he was impacted by a mural on the Rollins College campus. Walk in the same places that Fred and Joanne did through different seasons of their life, as you come to better understand this legendary and wonderfully creative, kind man who left such a uniquely positive influence on the world.

Our guides are devoted fans of Fred who research and verify their information directly with members of the Rogers family, Fred’s production team from the TV show and the Fred Rogers Center to weave a beautiful story that you can’t find anywhere else. Come along on an amazing journey of joy as you celebrate the accomplishments of a great, yet humble, man from Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and our Winter Park neighbor!

What's Included

Tour Includes:

90 Minute – 2 Hour Guided Walking Tour in the Winter Park Footsteps of Fred Rogers.
Legendary stories from Mister Rogers’ time in Winter Park as a student and later as a humble television celebrity.
Historical information about the Winter Park area, a significant part of Fred and Joanne’s life.
Every person age 4 and above on the tour must reserve in advance.
Children under 12 attend for free with a paid adults.
Confirmations will be sent within 48 hours of booking, subject to availability.

Exclusions and Extras:

You may include the 1 hour cruise long the canals and lakes of Winter Park at checkout.
Tour guide gratuity is not included in the booking price.
Tour must have at least two guests booked to operate.

Season & Time

Season/Time:

The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes – 2 hours.

Tours which depart after 5:00pm, or on Sundays, originate from the benches in front of the City of Winter Park Administrative Building, located at 401 South Park Avenue (southwest corner of South Park Avenue and West Lyman Avenue), Winter Park 32789. Mister Rogers tours departing at all other times (i.e. before 5:00pm, Monday – Saturday) meet in the lobby of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Building, located at 151 W Lyman Avenue, Winter Park 32789. There is free parking near both buildings and along the local streets in the area. If coming from the I-Drive or Orlando tourist zones, you may want to allow at least 45 minutes travel time depending on your departure location; check your GPS, Waze, Google Maps or other apps so you can be sure to join our tour in plenty of time.

This tour operates on various days and times each month. Check the schedule on this page for exact details.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour to check in. There are no refunds or partial credits for guests who are late to the tour or no-shows. Tours depart rain or shine!

A private tour (ten or more) can be designed for your group to deliver a customized, extraordinary day! For groups of ten or more, please contact experiences@originalorlando.com or (407) 986-8687 to create your unforgettable visit!

Cancellation Policy

You may receive a full or partial refund by notifying us via email at experiences@originalorlando.com of the cancellation. No refunds shall be issued for cancellations not received at least 24 hours in advance of the starting time and date of your tour. Please review your Terms and Conditions document for other cancellation provisions.

This Mister Rogers walking tour is only offered in English. Florida weather varies throughout the year, so you may want to check the forecast and plan to dress accordingly. Tours operate rain or shine! We suggest wearing comfortable shoes and bringing an umbrella if there is a chance of rain. If using a tour voucher, the reservation must be validated within 48 hours of departure time, or the reservation may be forfeited.

					This is a must do.  Excellent Mister Rogers tour with Michael!   He is very knowledgeable and shared lots of information about Rollins and the area.  This is an active walking tour,  so wear comfortable shoes and breathable clothing.  Will book other tours with them.

If you are in Winter Park, take this tour, and imagine Fred strolling in front of the shops while courting a young pianist name JoAnn, talking of their future together. We were originally skeptical about a food walk in the July Central Florida heat, but the guides were fantastic about finding shade when they stopped to give us some local history. We really enjoyed the history of the Winter Park peacocks and why the town is called “Winter Park”. We wanted more of this. We visited seven different locations and all the sweets, beverages, and samples were tasty and of high quality. The tasting room was the highlight of the tour because the staff member not only provided a history of his products, but he provided versatile ways of using them. We tasted a salad, chips and dip, and ice cream there. The other highlight was a restaurant that provided a special mimosa and salmon chip. We also visited the Winter Park food market and sampled a Jamaican chicken patty. Four of the visits offered sweets. While this was a great tour for adults, families, and kids, I wish there were more filling, food items and less sweets. Would I go back for one of their other tours like the Mister Rogers tour, absolutely!

Mister Rogers was a legend, but he was also human, and this tour captured it perfectly. The stories about his not always happy childhood to his knack for knowing how to relate to the little ones makes this tour a must when visiting Winter Park.
