Travel first class on your journey to the North Pole while riding this unique winter Orlando Christmas train adventure! We’ll bring your entire group to the beautiful winter village of Mount Dora for a trip to the North Pole on board an authentic train tour that recreates THE POLAR EXPRESS film!
You’ll experience iconic moments from the film as you have your golden ticket punched by the conductor, enjoy hot cocoa served by dancing chefs, interact with the hobo and other various characters from the film, and enjoy a reading of the classic children’s book THE POLAR EXPRESS by Chris Van Allsburg.
Upon arrival at the North Pole, Santa Claus and his elves will climb aboard and visit each group. Each child will receive a silver bell from Santa’s sleigh as the first gift of your Orlando Christmas!
After your train tour journey back from the North Pole, the adventure continues with time to explore the historic downtown of Mount Dora. Known as a slice of “Old Florida,” this New England style village on the shores of Lake Dora, boasts a myriad of boutiques, antique shops, local eats and scenic parks, contrasting the big city feel and crowds of the Orlando tourist zone.
In the winter time Mount Dora is known for an array of dazzling lights on display at night. With the whole town involved in festivities, you have a chance to see breathtaking displays of winter cheer.
This tour brings you and your family on an unforgettable Orlando Christmas experience, complete with everything but Tom Hanks!
Approximately 4 ½-5 hours total. Please note that Orlando traffic conditions can vary widely while I-4 is under construction. This tour typically operates in November and December each year.

Mount Dora’s historic Lakeside Inn has hosted Presidents Coolidge and Eisenhower, Thomas Edison, and Henry Ford. The 1981 film “Honky Tonk Freeway” was filmed in Mount Dora, and many Mount Dora buildings were temporarily painted pink for the film’s set. Mount Dora is famous locally for its antique shops and cafes. Original Orlando Tours offer other themed tours on the Royal Palm Express, as well as several other Orlando Christmas themed unique adventures.
This train tour is only offered in English. Florida weather is unpredictable and may impact the tour. If the weather is deemed unsafe by our guide due to weather conditions prior to commencement of the tour, Original Orlando Tours will offer a substitute tour at the original day and time, offer a credit to be used on any future Original Orlando Tours adventure, or fully refund the tour fee, the choice of which is at the option of our special guests impacted by the weather disruption. There are no refunds once the tour has commenced (i.e., the vehicle has left your departure point). This train tour also includes an Orlando discount savings booklet. We suggest wearing a hat, comfortable shoes and sunscreen to make your tour an enjoyable one in warm months as well as a jacket in cooler weather.
