Once we arrive your adventure begins with a serene nature cruise! As you sail through the Lake County canal’s, keep an eye out for the assortment of wildlife naturally on display, ranging from otters to bald eagles. This covered pontoon guided boat tour will protect you from sun or rain as you become witness to the beauty of Florida nature.
After your nature river tour experience, your foray into rustic Florida continues with time to explore the historic downtown of Mount Dora. This slice of “Old Florida” is reminiscent of a New England style village on the shores of Lake Dora. You’ll have plenty of time to explore, shop or even enjoy a café meal in this quaint lakeside village. It’s a perfect escape from the big city feel and crowds of the Orlando tourist zone, as you explore the “other Orlando” with Original Orlando Tours!

Mount Dora’s historic Lakeside Inn has hosted Presidents Coolidge and Eisenhower, Thomas Edison, and Henry Ford. The 1981 film “Honky Tonk Freeway” was filmed in Mount Dora, and many Mount Dora buildings were temporarily painted pink for the film’s set. Mount Dora is famous locally for its antique shops and cafes. The Dora Canal and its local nature along the lakes was featured on the PBS show “Central Florida Road Trip, Tavares Edition”. This guided boat tour is only offered in English. Florida weather is unpredictable and may impact the tour. If the weather is deemed unsafe by our guide due to weather conditions prior to commencement of the tour, Original Orlando Tours will offer a substitute tour at the original day and time, offer a credit to be used on any future Original Orlando Tours adventure, or fully refund the tour fee, the choice of which is at the option of our special guests impacted by the weather disruption. There are no refunds once the tour has commenced (i.e., the vehicle has left your departure point). This train tour also includes an Orlando discount savings booklet. We suggest wearing a hat, comfortable shoes and sunscreen to make your tour an enjoyable one in warm months as well as a jacket in cooler weather.
